Weekly Outlook

U.S. Week Ahead by MarketWatch (video).
Wall St. Week Ahead by Reuters.
Stocks to Watch Monday by MarketWatch.
Weekly Economic Calendar by Briefing.com.

BOTTOM LINE: I expect US stocks to finish the week mixed as diminishing economic fear, seasonal strength, buyout speculation, investment manager performance anxiety and short-covering offsets profit-taking, rising sovereign debt angst and China inflation worries. My intermediate-term trading indicators are giving mostly bullish signals and the Portfolio is 75% net long heading into the week.

love your blog but am confused about something you wrote. on friday at 4:02pm you said you were 75% long and then sunday at 12:39pm you were 100% long. how do you go from 75% long to 100% long when the market is closed?

thanks! keep up the good work!

In my linked article, Investors Go “All In” With US Financials Shares, As The Euro And The European Financial Institutions Turn Down, I relate the Jeff Kearns and Whitney Kisling Bloomberg report, Bullish Options Bets on U.S. Financial Stocks Jump to Highest in 13 Months. The report documents Tulip Mania, that is the irrational exuberance, seen at market tops. World history is at an epic inflection point. We are passing from the age of leverage into the age of deleveraging. Personally I am invested in gold bullion: I recommend it for all. But for those who have not come to the light of understanding yet, I recommend going short the consumer discretionary stocks ….. Rent A Center, RCII, Zumiez, ZUMZ, Hansen Natural, HANS, Hasbro, HAS, Knot, KNOT, Liberty Media, LCAPA, Polaris Industries, PII, Royal Caribbean Cruise, RCL, SanDisk, SNDK, Stamps.com, STMP, Stanley Black Decker, SWK, Tempur-Pedic Intl, TPX, Thor Industries, THO, Tootsie Roll, TR, Toro Co, TTC, and International Flavors & Fragrances, IFF … Leveraged S&P, BXUB, and Small Cap Financial, RWJ, would be good shorts as well.

Thanks. That was a mistake. I copy and paste some of my post templates and I forgot to change the market exposure. I appreciate the heads up. I am 75% net long heading into the week.
